A Receptionist greets visitors to a sports club. They answer phone calls, organise meetings, undertake clerical work and direct visitors to the appropriate person or place. It’s important they maintain a positive attitude at all times to represent the club in the best manner. As they’ll often be the first person a visitor sees, they need to ensure they give a good first impression, both in their behaviour and in the presentation of their working area.

A Receptionist is at the centre of the business. They keep everything ticking over – meaning that they’re required to handle a large amount of confidential information.
Five passes at GCSE level, including in English and Maths, are often required. A-Levels or a relevant BTEC in Business Administration can help set an applicant apart from the crowd.
Experience of working in a customer service role – ideally as a receptionist or within an office – is essential. Applicants should be able to demonstrate competency with computers, deal with customers and possess high levels of organisation.
