HEAD OF DIGITAL & CONTENT
The Head of Digital & Content oversees all creative output on an organisation’s digital, social and mobile platforms. They develop focused campaigns, guide content creation, work to grow the club’s digital footprint and provide regular reports on digital performance.
They lead a team of designers, producers and content creators as they look to build the club’s online brand. A strategic thinker, they possess a great knowledge of the digital landscape and are aware of the latest platform updates.

Real Madrid has the biggest digital following of all sports clubs with an online community in excess of 200 million. Growing an organisation’s social following helps to increase revenue through increased interest, advertising capacity and merchandise sales. As the digital landscape continues to grow, the role of Head of Digital & Content will become ever more important.
An undergraduate degree is required for the role, ideally in English, Media, Journalism or Communications. The NCTJ journalism certificate is also desirable.
Extensive experience in digital, social and mobile strategy and content creation is necessary. Candidates should be able to cite case studies and refer to the latest industry trends. They will have worked closely with senior clients and leading athletes or celebrities while being comfortable managing budgets. Though not essential, experience of a similar role within a sporting environment is preferred.
