HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS
The Head of Communications manages and directs all of a sports organisation’s internal and external communications. Leading a team of professionals, they boost the club’s profile through PR, content and media activity.
The creation and implementation of communication strategies is key to the role. The Head of Communications liaises with senior members of the club to make sure communications are in line with business objectives.

The Head of Communications oversees a wide variety of content. From press releases on new commercial partners to writing statements on behalf of athletes, no two days are ever the same.
An undergraduate degree in Advertising, Communications, English, PR or Journalism is essential. Qualifications at an MA level are advantageous.
At least five years of experience in communications at a senior level are needed. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong writing, editing, public speaking and leadership skills. Such experience should have given them a thorough understanding of the media, PR and content industries. A track record of leading effective communication strategies is highly desirable.
