FUNDRAISING MANAGER
A Fundraising Manager oversees efforts to increase income for a charitable organisation or non-profit organisation. They work to persuade a wide range of people to contribute toward their cause. The ways to do so are numerous. Whether it’s attracting positive PR, organising community events, speaking to potential donors or creating links with corporations, no two days are the same in this varied role.

DID YOU KNOW?
Depending on the size of the organisation they’re working for, Fundraising Managers may specialise in one set area, such as community fundraisers.
RECOMMENDED EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree or Higher National Diploma are usually required, though there are no specific subjects. While qualifications in marketing, media or business may be most relevant, they aren’t essential.
RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE
Experience tends to be prioritised over education. Being able to point to times where you’ve helped raise funds is essential. This could be for a sports club, community project, charity or even a school or university. Voluntary work is necessary, with roles such as Fundraising Assistant advantageous. There are also internships offered by a wide variety of organisations that help to get an applicant’s foot in the door.
